WHAT IS INFRARED?

Far infrared waves penetrate into our body to activate the sweat glands. The sweat glands offer one of only a few mechanisms that the body has to eliminate toxins and since the skin is the largest organ in the human body it is a very good means for elimination. When far infrared waves are applied to water molecules (comprising 70% Of our body) these molecules begin to vibrate. This vibration reduces the ion bonds and the eventual breakdown of the water molecules causes encapsulated gasses and other toxic materials to be released. Our Saunas use Far infrared technology. Some people do not break much of a sweat in their first couple of sauna sessions, this is completely normal.

INFRARED VS. TRADITIONAL SAUNA

Traditional saunas dehydrate you more than an infrared sauna and remove more water but fewer toxins. Traditional saunas only remove about 3% of toxins in your body, whereas an infrared sauna can remove up to 20% of toxins from your body.

Traditional saunas heat only the surface of your skin through convection and conduction. Infrared saunas use infrared heat panels that emit light, helping your body to detoxify, giving users a deeper cleansing experience.

WHAT IS CWI & HOW DO I DO IT?

Cold Water Immersion (CWI) is a form of cold water therapy, which improves the natural recovery process of the human body. A well-known type of Cold Water Immersion, is taking ice baths. Cold Water Immersion is a great way to activate the body’s natural healing powers, and to make it able to relieve symptoms of various medical conditions. When practiced on a regular basis, the positive effects of exposure to cold last even longer. Over time, Cold Water Immersion improves your cardiovascular circulation, reduces muscle inflammation, and facilitates weight loss. Our plunge pools are cooled between 8-12 degrees.

We suggest not alternating between infrared and Cold plunge, as infrared can take longer to heat the body’s surface.

Instead we would suggest having your sauna, then taking cold plunge and hot shower to finish. We also suggest trying a few different methods to find what suits you best.
